Education
Wilde have worked for many schools and universities. We have been on the Frameworks for LSE and UCL for more than 15 years where projects have included halls of residence, laboratories, lecture theatres and administrative buildings. From 2022 through to 2024, we have been involved in designing Leeds Trinity University’s new City Centre Campus. Through Stockport MBC, we have worked on numerous school buildings including undertaking widespread roof strengthening where RAAC has been identified.
Municipal and Leisure Buildings
Wilde undertake a significant proportion of our work for Local Authorities. We have undertaken new build design, inspections and repairs on a number of public buildings including Town Halls, Libraries and Leisure Centres.
Transport Buildings
We have been involved in undertaking inspections and structural analysis on many multi-storey car parks. Some of these have been suffering from significant deterioration due to corrosion. We have also worked on a number of bus depot buildings and transport interchanges. Our work with Network Rail includes repairs and refurbishment of stations from Euston up to Carlisle on the West Coast Mainline.
Commercial and Retail Properties
Wilde have long established relationships with a lot of our clients. We have been involved in office developments, data centres, warehousing, shopping centres and supermarkets for some the UK’s most well-known brands and companies.
Industrial Structures
Structural services for our industrial clients has involved design of new facility buildings, upgrading and strengthening for new plant, extensions and adaptions to existing buildings and inspections and repairs to deteriorated structure.
Residential and Hotels
Our residential work includes the design of new build blocks of flats, refurbishment of individual & groups of affordable housing, and the design of bespoke luxury housing for high profile individuals. We design for private clients, public authorities and for design/build contractors.
Healthcare and Laboratories
We have designed and modified care homes, hospitals, clinics, laboratories and production facilities for the health care sector and work for both private and public sector clients. Our experience ranges from hospitals in West Africa to specialist high-tech production, including zero humidity facilities in the UK.
Repairs and Refurbishment
Our structural engineers relish the challenge that repair and refurbishment projects bring. We have worked on all forms of existing buildings and have vast experience on working on listed structures and building conservation. We have extensive experience on repairing defects in all building materials and elements such as decayed timbers, reinforcement corrosion, masonry movement, steel frame corrosion and foundation settlement.
Expert Advice, Inspections and Reports
At Wilde we have a depth of expert knowledge and numerous professionally qualified engineers. We provide structural inspection reports that provide sufficient detail, recommendations and practical advice. We undertake inspections throughout the UK. We have undertaken many Building Safety Case Reports for High Rise Residential Buildings including Large Panel System (LPS) Structures. We have also undertaken numerous RAAC inspections.
Sustainable Structures
As responsible engineers, we strive to achieve solutions that have a minimal impact on the environment. We are signed up to the Institution of Structural Engineers Declaration on the Climate and Biodiversity Emergency. We meet monthly to discuss sustainability issues and explore and drive better ways of designing more sustainably. We have undertaken embodied carbon appraisals on our designs and we have designed in many sustainable solutions on our projects. Recent project examples include Cheadle Eco Business Park which utilises a long span timber frame, Leeds Trinity University City Centre Campus which re-uses an existing concrete frame and Transport for Greater Manchester’s Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme which involved the installation of photovoltaic panels and heat pumps to their existing depot building roofs.
