As part of the major development of the central campus, part of the St Clements Building was removed. This required modification to the retained portion by the creation of a new stairway and analysis to confirm the stability of the retained structure. The recommended solution which was integrated within the building at the front minimised the structural work necessary by utilising as much as possible of the existing building framework, thereby saving on costs and disruption.
