Cheadle Eco Park is a major industrial and logistics development in Stockport, designed to deliver high-quality employment space with a strong focus on sustainability. The scheme is notable for being one of the UK’s largest purpose-built industrial developments constructed entirely from sustainably sourced timber.
Wilde has supported the project over a three-year period, working alongside the developer and wider project team from early stages through to construction.

The challenge
Delivering industrial and logistics space at scale using a fully timber structural solution presents a number of design and coordination challenges. These typically include:
- · Integrating a large-scale engineered timber frame within an industrial building typology
- · Coordinating design interfaces between structure, services, and external works
- · Supporting a low-carbon material strategy while maintaining programme certainty and buildability
- · Ensuring the development meets local authority expectations for sustainability and quality
The scheme also required close collaboration between stakeholders to transition from concept to a deliverable construction solution.
What Wilde delivered
Wilde has provided ongoing engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the project, working in close coordination with the design team and delivery partners. Our role has included:
- · Supporting the development of the overall site and infrastructure strategy
- · Providing technical input to enable the integration of the timber structural approach within the wider development
- · Undertaking structural embodied carbon reviews in line with IStructE guidance
- · Supporting delivery through to the construction phase
This long-term involvement has helped ensure continuity from early design through to on-site delivery.
