Wilde Consultants developed the design of a new track drainage system to help alleviate flooding and track quality issues through Great Rocks tunnel next to Tunstead Quarry near Buxton, Derbyshire. The site exhibited shallow bedrock throughout requiring the development of a high-capacity shallow drainage system utilising bespoke pre-cast concrete (PCC) channel drain units design for rail loadings.
The project was successfully completed in summer 2023.
