We are looking for an experienced CEM – Works Delivery (Civils) to provide technical leadership and engineering assurance across civils delivery. 


This role would suit an experienced CEM looking for their next challenge or a CRE ready to step up into a CEM position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead CEM activities for civils works delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership and engineering assurance.
  • Coordinate contractors, designers and project stakeholders.
  • Review designs, methodologies and technical submissions.
  • Manage technical risks, changes and engineering issues.
  • Support project delivery teams with technical advice and decision-making.
  • Resolve technical issues and ensure appropriate documentation and handover.

Essential requirements:

  • MEng in Civil Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • 5+ years’ rail experience.
  • Around 8 years’ civils/rail design experience.
  • Around 3 years’ CRE or comparable engineering management experience.
  • Strong understanding of rail civils design, delivery and engineering assurance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
  • Previous CEM / Works Delivery experience.
  • Major rail infrastructure experience.
