Location: Burrs Country Park, Bury
- Higher Woodhill Viaduct carries the East Lancs Railway through Burrs Country Park.
- Working in partnership with Bury Council, Wilde Consultants Ltd delivered the detailed design for the steelwork repairs, concrete repairs, re-waterproofing and new protective paint system.
- The design team undertook an Inspection for Assessment followed by a full numerical assessment of the structure. This identified several elements that no longer met the required live‑load rating due to corrosion and section loss. Targeted steelwork repairs were designed to restore the structure to its required capacity.
- These works have strengthened the structure and helped secure the long term future of this iconic viaduct, ensuring it continues to serve the heritage railway for years to come.
