We are seeking a proactive and delivery-focused strategic infrastructure. Programme Manager to lead the development and implementation of major infrastructure Programmes in the Greater Manchester area.

Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of the infrastructure programmes taking the programme forward from appointment of technical teams to delivery
  • lead programmes on behalf of the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO), ensuring successful delivery of the infrastructure programmes
  • Planning and designing the programmes and proactively monitoring their overall progress, resolving issues, and taking action including accurate programme plans, risk registers, and dashboards
  • Develop coordination across the full range of programmes in Infrastructure to ensure projects are developed and delivered in a joined-up, efficient manner, including their interdependencies
  • Develop and implement the programme’s governance framework ensuring timely, clear reporting and recommendations to senior officers, elected members, and funding bodies
  • Managing and resolving risks and issues across the full range of infrastructure programmes taking prompt and decisive action to mitigate risks identified
  • Manage the programmes budget, monitoring the expenditure and costs against benefits as the programme progresses ensuring strong financial planning is built into all programme stages, supporting the development of business cases and funding bids
  • Escalate and report identified issues where necessary to maintain delivery confidence across the programmes

Qualifications and Certificates:

  • An engineering degree or equivalent industry-recognised training qualification
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Strong evaluation and decision-making skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence and be able to attend sites in the NW&C region
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Excellent Report writing skills
  • Ability to produce and maintain Programmes and Estimates
  • Client liaison skills
  • Be able to liaise with our internal Contractor
