Our site investigation identified soft, waterlogged ground and a contaminated layer possibly associated with a previous pond. The contamination was slight and at depth so no special measures were necessary.
Prior to the new construction 6 bungalows on the site had to be safely demolished.
The site level was lowered to enable it to tie into the phase 2 site built previously. The necessitated the use of retaing walls to support the adjacent road.
The surface drainage works required liason with UU but attenuation was not requested.
Vehicle swept path analysis was carried out to ensure the suitability of the access road design.
